Back 2 Basics Recipe for Marketing Success, Part 2
Okay…so we got all our “cooking” tools together, and we’ve prepped our “kitchen” for whipping up a great recipe! We also know that we’ve got to pay attention to the “seasoning” we’re using, while “stirring the pot” at strategic times during the process.
In addition, we’re keeping options open by knowing we may be serving smaller portions or individual portions rather than a whole meal to some of our customers. Here are the remaining marketing goals from our list:
6. Creativity – When you are cooking, do you follow the recipe word for word, ingredient by ingredient or do you like to think outside the box? Maybe you broil instead of fry, saute’ instead of boil, substitute applesauce for oil when baking! Thinking outside the box is fun and the results can be totally awesome!
7. Temperature Adjustments – Sometimes the recipe calls for starting slow, using a low temperature in order to get the ingredients to set first before turning up the heat to finish off the dish. Maybe the ingredients need to be brought to a boil first to start the cooking off with a bang…and then be turned down to simmer to let the ingredients get to the right consistency. This part of the recipe insures all ingredients are just right!
8. Clean Up – Keeping the work area cleaned up as we cook helps insure recipes and ingredients aren’t mixed up. It contributes to a nicely finished dish (product) that’s clear cut…not thrown together, messy, and distasteful.
9. Serve – serving your clients/customers is just like someone serving you food. Offer online support, personalized attention, and constant communication to ensure your customers are 100% satisfied.
10. Follow Up – Never let your customers leave and just assume they will be back to eat again! Follow-up is extremely important. Before they pay the bill, ask for their feedback on the meal. Contact them through whatever means available to be sure you are aware of their developing wants and needs so you can create a new recipe for them to try next time!
